One day Training the Trainers course designed to meet the needs of clinical educators new to simulation with two main objectives:

  • Understand simulation's role as an educational tool
  • Develop skills to identify individual and team behaviours that may impact on the management of complex clinical situations

To meet those objectives the course includes:

  • Adult learning principles with an emphasis on experiential learning
  • Principles of small group teaching
  • Debriefing skills for team and individuals relating to complex professional behaviours
  • Human Factors and the role they play in error and patient safety
  • Identify learning outcomes and scenario design

The two day Simulation Facilitator course aims to provide the skills to run a simulation course and provide effective debriefing to simulation training sessions.  The course comprises the following:

  • Identifying learning outcomes and scenario design
  • Debriefing skills for teams and individuals relating to complex clinical behaviour
  • Scenario pratice, including debfiefing
  • Human Factors and the role they play in error
