Initial cohort of speakers announced for December Educational Excellence Conference

We are delighted to announce our initial cohort of speakers and workshop hosts for the Educational Excellence conference, ‘Quality Improvement and Innovation in Healthcare Education’ on the 19th of December 2011.

We are pleased to welcome:

  • Geraint Lewis Consultant Public Health Physician and Senior Fellow at the Nuffield Trust
  • Andrew Fordyce, Consultant Oral and Facial Surgeon at South Devon Healthcare NHS Trust
  • Professor Elisabeth Paice, Chair NWL Integrated Care Project
  • Diana Hamilton-Fairley, Dean of Secondary Care Specialties, London Commissioner for Medical and Dental Education, London Deanery
  • Ian Curran, Dean for Educational Excellence, Head of Innovation and Lead for STeLI, Educational Commissioning System, NHS London, London Deanery.
  • Sonya Abraham, Consultant Rheumatologist, Project Lead for Patient Centric Healthcare, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
  • Francina Cunningnton, Head of Medical Education, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust
  • Tracy Parr, London Trauma System Manager, London Trauma Office.

They, and other speakers, will be exploring educational excellence, quality and innovation in healthcare education.  Topics will include quality improvement, reliability, service and patient-centred themes such as optimising clinical processes and service pathway reforms.   Simulations in both secondary and integrated care environments will be showcased.  Other themes include highlighting patient centric healthcare and developing leadership through simulation in practice as well as sharing best practice and learning from other industries.
